FAQs
Booking & Availability
How far in advance should we book?
Depending on your event, get in contact and Jonathan will try to accomdate you as best as possible. For memorials/funerals you can book a week in advance if available. For weddings, couples tend to book 6 - 12 months in advance. Popular dates can book out so it's best to book as soon as possible.
How do we check your availability?
Simply get in touch with your type of event, date, venue, and location, and I'll confirm my availability as soon as possible.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a %20 booking fee/deposit is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due a week before the wedding.
Can we meet before booking?
Absolutely. I'm happy to meet online to arrange a phone call or video chat to discuss your plans and answer any questions.
Music & Personalisation
Can we choose the songs?
Yes. Every wedding package includes consultation on song selection, and you can choose the songs that are most meaningful to you.
Can you learn a special song for our ceremony?
In most cases, yes. If the song is suitable for my style and sufficient notice is provided, I'm happy to learn a special request.
Can you tailor the music to suit our guests?
Absolutely. I work closely with couples to create a setlist that matches the atmosphere you're looking for, whether that's romantic, relaxed, upbeat, or a mix of styles - classical, contemporary, country.
Can you perform songs not listed in your repertoire?
Often yes. Let me know your requests and I'll confirm whether they can be added.
Can we provide a playlist for breaks?
Yes. I can play your chosen playlist during performance breaks to ensure continuous music throughout the event.
Equipment & Sound
What gear do I use?
PA system: Electro Voice Everse 8 PA System
Microphone: Shure Beta 58 Vocal Microphone
Guitar: Maton Australian Acoustic with AP 5 Pickup
Do you provide your own PA system?
Yes. I provide professional sound equipment suitable for most wedding ceremonies and Cocktail hour.
Do we need to hire any additional audio equipment?
Usually not. For larger venues or events with a very high guest count, additional sound equipment may be recommended.
Do you bring your own microphone and speakers?
Yes. I supply all necessary performance equipment unless the venue has a preferred audio setup.
Can you use the venue's sound system?
Yes, where appropriate. I'm happy to coordinate with the venue's audio team if required.
Do you need access to power?
Not essential, my PA speaker is battery powered upto 11 hours.
Wedding Day Logistics
How early do you arrive?
I typically arrive well before the performance start time to allow for setup, sound checks, and coordination with venue staff.
How much space do you need?
A small performance area is usually sufficient.
Do you travel to weddings?
Yes. I perform at weddings throughout the Brisbane CBD, gold coast and sunshine coast region and am happy to travel further by arrangement.
Is travel included in your pricing?
Travel within a certain distance may be included. Additional travel fees may apply for venues located further away.
Can you perform outdoors?
Yes, provided there is adequate shelter, protection from weather to ensure my gear stays dry.
What happens if it rains at an outdoor wedding?
A suitable undercover backup location should be available to protect both guests and equipment.
Ceremony Music
Can you perform during the ceremony?
Yes. I can provide music for guest arrival, the processional, signing of the register, and recessional.
Can you coordinate timing with our celebrant?
Absolutely. I can work closely with your celebrant, wedding planner, and venue to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Can you provide music before and after the ceremony?
Yes. Many couples choose live music for guest arrival and post-ceremony drinks as well.
Reception Entertainment
Do you perform during cocktail hour?
Yes. Live acoustic music during cocktail hour is one of the most popular options.
Can you provide music during dinner?
I'm currently only offering my services for Ceremony and Cocktail hour (see packages). You will need to find a DJ or band for the reception. If you'd like a song for your first dance, i'm more than happy to play and prepare a song, it will just come at an extra cost.
Do you take song requests from guests?
Where appropriate, yes. This can be discussed when planning your event.
Can you provide dance-floor music?
At this stage, I don't offer dance-floor entertainment or DJ services. My focus is on creating a relaxed, intimate atmosphere through live acoustic performances during your ceremony and cocktail hour.

Final Details
When do we finalise the music selections?
Most couples finalise their song choices a few weeks before the wedding if possible, although planning can begin much earlier.
Can you work with our wedding planner and venue?
Absolutely. I'm happy to coordinate directly with your planner, celebrant, photographer, videographer, and venue staff.
Why choose live music for a wedding?
Live music creates a personal and memorable atmosphere that recordings simply can't replicate. It adds emotion, energy, and a unique touch to your wedding day.
What makes my wedding performances different?
Every wedding is personalised. I don't use a one-size-fits-all setlist. I work with each couple to create a soundtrack that reflects their story, provide professional sound equipment, arrive early for setup, travel to your venue, and coordinate with your celebrant and vendors to ensure the music enhances every moment of your day.
